Bletchley Park may seem more suited to the adult world but there is plenty for children to do and learn.

Also make a visit to our Toys and Memorabilia Exhibition, a large, varied collection of playthings and domestic artifacts related to everyday life in the 1930s through to the immediate post-war period. There are toy soldiers, model trains, model vehicles, Britain's lead farm and garden, make-do-and-mend toys, dolls and teddies. Those who are studying or are interested in the National Curriculum 'Britain since the 1930s' will find this collection of great interest.

The Toys and Memorabilia display is temporarily housed in two areas, Block B where the display is open every day, and in rooms at the rear of the Mansion where the displays are open at weekends only. There is also a display of vintage toys in the Mansion library.

The newly resurfaced play area will once again be open for the summer and you can now enjoy the brand new giant chess board. As always a full children’s menu is available in our café.

There is also a range of children’s merchandise available in the shop including our new children’s guide book.

Block B Exhibition Centre

You will be fascinated by the World War II Story based in Block B. It features the Home Front display which gives a view of what life was like during war-time Britain, and showing what sort of pastimes kept 1940s children occupied before the advent of television and computer games. The Toy and Household Memorabilia collection has a huge range of old toys from lead soldiers to paper dress-up dolls. You can also see what 'wash day' used to be like, with a display of household items for the 1940s.

The Story of Bletchley Park exhibition tells the history of codebreaking at the Park, including real Enigma machines. The story continues with a real-life dispatch rider's motorbike and displays of listening devices used to intercept the German signals. There is also a cartoon storyboard showing what went on at the Park during the war years.

We also have displays on Pigeons at War and the Enigma Cinema which shows films from the 1930s and 40s.

Explore the Park & Spy on the Wildlife!

The 29 acre site has lots of wide open spaces to explore and have fun in. We have many friendly ducks, swans and other bird species. See if you can spot one of the secret squirrels that live on our grounds! Keep your eyes peeled for 'Enigma', our resident black and white cat, who lives in the Bletchley Park Garage.

FAMILY  FUN  WEDNESDAYS  AT  BLETCHLEY  PARK
New Children’s Activity Days launched for the Summer Holidays

A brand new series of family fun days are being launched for the summer holidays at Bletchley Park.  Designed especially for kids from the age of 4 upwards, the days will feature a range of activities, from spy workshops and lessons in how to send Morse code, to interactive displays about the role of pigeons during World War Two

and specially-created children’s guided tours.

Starting on Wednesday 28 July, the Family Fun days will continue on consecutive Wednesdays until Wednesday 1 September.

With Bletchley Park’s Annual Season ticket, you only have to pay for your first visit.  You can then return time and time again for up to 12 months for free, which means that you and the family can come to every Family Fun Wednesday and only pay once.
