Re-enactors

World war two re-enactors, both civilian and military, are welcome at all our events. There are a range of one and two day events.

Re-enactors really help make our events come alive.

Thank to those of you who attended last year, we had some really great events with the 40’s Family Festival and Enigma weekend being the highlights. It was wonderful to see so many of you join us at Bletchley Park, which really made the event special.

The next big event in the calender is our annual 1940s event which will take place on the 30th and 31st May. We have decided to make this a two day event due to the large number of people who attended in 2009. Naturally camping is available on site for all re-enactors.

Below is a list of 2010 events

 Forties Family Festival – 30th & 31st May
Last year this event was attended by 2000 people and had a great atmosphere, so this year we are making it larger and over two days. We are also hoping to have a swing band on the Sunday night.

• Armed Forces Day – 3rd & 4th July
A celebration of the Armed forces throughout history, hopefully with every period represented.

• Polish Event – 18th July
An annual festival celebrating the Polish contribution to the breaking of the WWII Enigma code.

Classic Car and  Motorbike Picnic – 1st August

This gets bigger every year with over 200 classic cars and over 1,000 people attending last year.

• Post Office International Festival – 30th August

Celebrating the history of the Post Office but particularly the war years and taking a closer look at civilian life during that time.

• Churchill & Enigma Reunion Weekend – 4th & 5th September

We celebrate the man who took us though WW2 but also the veterans who worked at Bletchley Park and who attend every year.

• The Golden Age of Cinema – 3rd October
We will be celebrating the role of the film industry during the war years and the impact it had on civilian life in portraying the war, and propaganda. We aim to recreate the 40’s cinema experience and home life in WW2.

For more information on 2010 events please see our event calendar.

Unfortunately we are not in a position to pay expenses but we can offer all re-enactors, both military and civilian, free admission to these events, we also offer camping on site if needed.  We provide free tea and coffee in our volunteer hut and a 15% discount in our café.
